Suriaya was a leading actress of yesteryears and also a singer. A few yaers back she died in harkisandas hospital in grant rdoad in mumbai.her love affair with "dev anand " was very famous. she was to marry him but he grandmother did not allow it. It was said that during her hey days her fan used to wait in front her residence for a glimpse of her continuously. she was very rich and possessed many buildings in Mumbai notable one being "suraiya" on worli sea face.
she wanted to die in luxury and wealth as she vbelived that people who die with wealth have rebirth in wealthy families. a few months ago her death she had shifted her residence and gonee to her lawayers "Mr. thakkar" for staying .she made only one appaearnce after that and people were shocked as her hair on head were shelved. she did not talk to anybody. this shovked many as she was very particular of public graceful appearance. people were not allowed to contact her freely. It was also surprising that with all weath why was she admitted in an ordinary hospital like Harkisandas hospital. on her death many celebeerities from bollywood including stalwart music comoser Naushad had submitted a signed memorandum to chief minister asking for enquiry in thewhole matteras she had no legal heir for her property.
An appeal by lawyers was made that her death papers are avilable in "harkisandas hospital" and anybody can exanine them!
After her death Mr. thakkar's daughter claimed her property in court citing a will. however a distant relative from a foreign country appaered in court and court gave him possession. Is it that that distant relative was fabricatad so that no body can cast any doubt?
