IGNOU provides M.Sc (Mathematics with Applications in Computer Science) and it started only a year back i.e. in Jan 2008. For this you should have a bachelor's degree with main/major in Mathematics. It is a good option to opt for and the study materials are also good. They also conduct practical classes for computers.I can assure you this because I'm doing M.Sc(MACS) from IGNOU itself. But it is offered only in January session.

I am interested in doing Msc MACS from IGNOU, but the city I live in(Bangalore) is not listed as a program centre for this course. Is this a problem or will I still be able to do the course? How important is it to have a program centre in your own city and how often would we be using the facilities from the program centre. Someone already doing the course, please help.

@sharada: I think, Sikkim Manipal University is the best university of India for distance learning program. The Sikkim Manipal University offers M.Sc degree through correspondence. I have done my engineering from and pursuing M.Sc from Sikkim Manipal University distance program besides I am doing job in Software Company.SMUDE uses the latest edunxt technology to create a virtual classroom where you can interact with the faculty and students and thereby also network with other students, which is a unique and one of its kind feature amongst other colleges offering distance education. This course is primarily for working professionals and people who do not have the time or resources to get a full time graduation. For registering free at: http://www.smude.edu.in
