Desh Drohi - Bollywood Movie Gallery
25 Nov, 2007

Gracy Singh flown from Dubai to India without informing to producer Kamal Khan, reason behind this was that the team of film Desh Drohi was shooting in Dubai for couple of scenes in front of Crowne Plaza Hotel on Shaikh Zayed Road. Producer Kamal Khan was not aware that shooting is not allowed in that zone, though there was a board written in Arabic language. When they stated shooting in that area the cops mobbed leading a huge buzz.
Any production company that wants to carry out filming project in Dubai must first acquire a permit from The Dubai Studio City (DSC) before proceeding with any shooting. The DSC received many complaints about the shooting of film scenes on Shaikh Zayed Road, which caused a huge traffic snarl.
There were just 4 days to go to finish the schedule of film Desh Drohi directed by Jagdish Sharma, but actress Gracy Singh flown to India because she was really scared with the mess at the shooting location by the cops of Dubai.
However, the film is completed and ready for release to enthrall the audiences with star cast Gracy Singh, Hrishita Bhatt, Manoj Tiwari, Mukesh Tiwari, Chanky Pandey, Yash Pal Sharma, Prem Chopra, Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Raza Murad, Zakhir, Shiva, Krishna Abhishek, Kamaal R. Khan. Music by Nikhil.
Kamal Rashid Khan, who is acting in the film claimed that PJ Production, cannot be fined as they are India-based and it was a local company, which made all arrangements.
It seems producers of Indian Cinema need to learn some foreign languages to avoid this kind of situations while shooting in abroad. Labels: Film-Gallery

Naya Daur, now in COLOR
22 Oct, 2007

Shemaroo Entertainment takes immense pleasure in releasing the Home Video of the colour version of B.R. Chopra's eternal ' Naya Daur'. The colourisation trend started with 'Mughal-e-Azam', the home video of which was also released by Shemaroo Entertainment. Although Naya Daur is already a priceless classic and cannot be rated, this coloured version is absolutely authentic and has got great reviews from most publications.
The release of the coloured version of Naya Daur coincides with the golden jubilee year of the release of the black and white Naya Daur. It has taken two and a half years, 70 people working 8 hours a day and a budget of more than Rs. 30 million to give Naya Daur its sparkling new look. The music of O.P. Nayyar is considered to be one of the greatest assets of the film, apart from the fact that the black and white Naya Daur had won three film fare awards – for the best actor, best music and best story.
The home video of this colourized Naya Daur comes with its set of bonus features. The DVD is a special 2 disc autographed edition containing an exclusive booklet. The booklet is inclusive of interesting trivia, the colourisation process, memories related to Naya Daur, star quotes and much more. The extra DVD features consist of Autographs of Dilip Kumar and Vyajantimala; Celebrity Interviews - Karan Johar, Javed Akhtar, Yash Chopra, Ramesh Sippy and Ravi Chopra; Deleted Scenes; B.R. Chopra in conversation with Yash Chopra; Dilip Kumar's and Asha Bhonsle's speeches on Naya Daur.
It has often been a matter of concern, that black and white films lack the visual appeal to entice the viewer of today, however despite the oddities, NAYA DAUR works for several reasons even today.
- It depicts the triumph of the human spirit, which can never go out of fashion
- The relationships [Dilip Kumar-Ajit, Dilip Kumar-Vyjayantimala] are so human and believable
- O.P. Nayyar's lilting score is unforgettable
- The man versus machine race in the penultimate reels is astounding
There is no doubt that the film is relevant in the present day. Although we may not be caught up with a choice between a 'tanga' or motorized transport, manual labour or mechanization; modern India does have umpteen related problems. Masses can certainly relate to this movie even today. The VCD is priced at Rs.149/- MRP and DVD is priced at Rs. 349/-MRP Labels: Film-Gallery

Zaid Ahmad (Muzzamil Ibrahim) is young, dynamic, honest Muslim police inspector from Mumbai. He was known and respected among his colleagues and society because of his dedication towards work. Muzzamil Ibrahim has learnt to live in a violent society where violence is increasing an epidemic plague. One single night a bomb blast occurs at New Country Club causing mass destruction, Muzzamil happen to see his own wife among the wounded while rescue operation.
This bomb blast brings a terrible twist in his life with the death of his beautiful wife Sarah in the same blast. Suddenly chaos rise in his distress life with the announcement by the Police Officials that the injuries which were found on his wife's dead body resemble with those on the body of a Suicide Bomber. Zaid did not believe that, his beloved wife Sarah could be a Suicide Bomber. For him life means his wife and job. During his studies he was in love with Aushima, but could not marry her. Later on he will marry Sarah. With Sarah's death he will totally depress and CBI takes him in to their custody. Once he was knowed for his honesty in department, but today the same department treats him as an accused.
After a long investigation, Muzzamil gets a clean chit and will be out from hostage. According to officials Muzzamil found innocent. But seniors won't accept to take him on duty instead they decide to send him on long leave. No one trusts him; Muzzamil thinks that due to his religion no one believes him and decides to find out the reason behind his wife Sarah's involvement in the bomb blast. On the same day he happen to see a CD at his home, while plying that CD he sees the confession of his wife in which she says that "don't cry on my death, I am dieing for a noble cause". She says "we have been troubling a lot and we have to fight against this etc". This confession gives a shock to him slowly he becomes normal and find the reason behind his wife's obsession which lead her to kill many innocent people.
Finally Muzammil come to know the terrible fact, at the end of the movie he throw a message for audience in which he says that, If some thing goes wrong with some one due to the irregularities in society, becoming suicide bomb is not the solution. If it goes like this every thing will be finished and entire world will not exist.
In fact, in Pooja Bhatt's direction film Dhokha is a break through for Muzzamil Ibrahim, who is playing hero in his first film it self and the character which he is playing has the potential to become the epicenter of the story. According to Mahesh Bhatt Muzzamil is a gift to film industry from Bhatt Camp.
Apart from Muzzamil film Dhokha has the flavour of Mahesh Bhatt's movies such as Saransh, Aarth, Zakham, Tammana etc. with which he got name and fame. Let's wait and watch the response of audiences. Labels: Film-Gallery, Pooja-Bhutt
