'My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves' gets star studded premiere
12 Jan, 2008
Mumbai, Jan 11 (ANI): Bollywood glitterati descended at the premiere of 'My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves', a day before its release.
Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor, who was present at the premier, said, "This picture is a full of masala. Everyone says that their film is different from that of others. But the promos of the film suggest that it is really different from other movies."
The film directed by E Niwas, who won awards for his movie 'Shool' in 1999, stars Amrita Rao and debut actor Nikhil Dwivedi.
'My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves' introduces Nikhil on the silver screen in the lead role of Anthony Gonsalves. He plays the title character who dreams of hitting it big one day.
Niwas praised the debutant actor for his performance.
"They've done a fantastic job. As for the rest of them Mithun, Amrita, I don't think there is any need to say much on them, they are already proved actors. But Nikhil yes, the first film, he's done a fantastic job, " he said.
The film revolves around this bartender (Nikhil) who dreams of becoming an actor someday but ends up meeting a don played by Pavan Malhotra.
Unknown to him, the three brothers who own the bar are conducting illegal activities. Unfortunately one day, Anthony is witness to a brutal crime and is forced to fight for his life.

Bobby Deol can be seen in an interesting role in director Samir Karnik's film 'Nanhe Jaisalmer'. He is playing the character of himself, that is, actor Bobby Deol in the film. Director Samir Karnik had made his debut with the film 'Kyun…? Ho Gaya Na' with Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and her then beau Viveik Oberoi. Nanhe Jaisalmer is his second movie. According to Bobby this film is so touchy; unlike other movies this movie has a message in it. But it's not preachy. He really liked this script and this script as close as Apne. The story is definitely going to entertain the audiences; single person will not say that this is not a good film. When he asked that was he comfortable working with a child, as children would like to be in their own mood. He said with a grin that Dwij is very intelligent and I really had a good time with him. Along with studying he loves acting. I thought that generally children have a mood that changes very rapidly, but all the dialogs were noted to him and Dwij used to prompt me some times on the sets. He will be accompanied with me in 2 more films, one is ' Roshan' and another is 'Mera Bharat Mahan'. When he asked about his projects in pipeline, he said that there are films like ' Roshan', 'Mera Bharat Mahan' with Samir Karnik, and film named ' Chamku', and another movie is 'Ek' a remake of a south Indian movie is a stylish action movie.
When he asked that which kind of character did he liked and love to do, he says that as an actor I would love to do all kind of characters, but mostly my thrillers were appreciated then the romantic flicks and action films by the audiences. About his style statement he says, there is nothing specific I would like to ware all those attires in which I feel comfortable. As an answer to a question that will he takes some tips from his father he says, No tips can be taken or given as far as acting is concern, my acting is instant in each and every film. There is no practice in it.
He says that he come across fans like Nanhe in his real life also, he says me, my brother and my father always receive greeting cards on our birthdays from our fan clubs regularly and recently when I was in Ireland, The people over there, were calling me with my name, I thought that the people here also watch the Hindi movies and they know me with my name.
The little master of this movie, Dwij Yadav says about his name that 'Dwij' means twice born and he enjoys acting. He says I enjoy learning dialogs then my subjects in the school, he likes Mathematics with out any tuitions he scored 89% in his 4 th standard. Apart from Booby Uncle he likes Shah Rukh Khan as hero. He is yet to decide about his future plans. He like 'Chak De India' and 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S' films. Other projects on which he is working are 'Roshan', 'Mera Bharat Mahan', 'Cycle Cick' etc.

Victoria No. 203

Do you remember Victoria No.203? The Diamonds, A Cart driven by horses….these were the key words in that movie. Absolutely, we are talking about the movie Victoria No.203. Released in 1972 staring Ashok Kumar, Saira Banu, Navin Nischol, Pran etc. directed by Biju Sadanah. Now his son Kamal Sadanah, who started his career as an actor with Bekhudi beside Kajol, producing the remake of this movie with Jimmy Shergill, Preeti Jhangiani, Soniya Mehra, Kamal Sadanah etc.
Stars of new Victoria No.203 were arrived to Jam Shipra Mall recently to promote their film. According to Kamal Sadanah, this movie is not the adaptation of the old version it's a remake and definitely it is different because the old Victoria No.203 was released in 1972 and shot according to the then social scenario, this movie is different in terms of technicalities and many other aspects. Reacting to a question that script is written once again for new Victoria No.203? (Or) Are you following the previous script? He said, No, we have worked a lot on the script and it is required, because the things will change time to time. Generally people prefer to take the scripts from Hollywood, but if we see Indian cinema has a great treasure of scripts.
We took the two songs 'Do Bechare' and 'Thodasa Thehro' as they we in old version. These songs are re-recorded by Vijusha son of Kalyanji Bhai. Interesting part of this movie is that. This movie was directed by my father Biju Sadanah and I am producing this movie, the music was composed by Kalyanji Bahi this is being rerecorded by his son Vijusha, the songs were sung by Kishore Da and in this film Amit Kumar is singing the songs.
Jimmy Shergill says, we have used real diamonds while shooting, there was lot of security for them, but we had lot of fun. Labels: Previews
