After Padma Shri, Saif thanks all his directors

Mumbai, Jan 25 (IANS) An overwhelmed Saif Ali Khan thanked all his directors for his successful film career that fetched him his Padma Shri national honour Monday.
"I am very proud and honoured to have received this honour. I would like to thank my family and loved ones who have been there for me and the industry for supporting me," Saif, who is in Mumbai, said in an e-mail message.
"I would particularly like to thank Imtiaz Ali, Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar, Ramesh Taurani, Farhan Akhtar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Siddharth Anand, Kunal Kohli and Vishal Bhardwaj for having faith in me and making me who I am today," he added.
After debuting with "Aashiq Awara" in 1992, Saif had to struggle a lot till "Dil Chahta Hai" happened in 2001. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, the film marked a turning point in his career. There was no looking back for the actor after that as he delivered hits after hits like "Kal Ho Naa Ho", "Ek Hasina Thi", "Hum Tum", "Parineeta", "Salaam Namaste", "Omkara" and "Love Aaj Kal". New Delhi, Oct 31 (IANS) Kareena Kapoor is clear she will never endorse food chains like McDonald's or Burger King, known for their beef burgers and the like, while co-actor and boyfriend Saif Ali Khan says he can't think of doing an underwear ad. "I will not endorse non-vegetarian products like McDonald's or Burger King. I won't endorse alcohol or tobacco. This is the policy I always follow because if I don't relate to such things, I should not advocate them either," Kareena said at the HT Leadership Summit here Saturday. "Endorsing a brand is not only fun but it does add to the bank balance. Apart from that endorsing a good brand helps you in connecting with your fans. Given this, I have to be very choosy about my endorsements because they also help a lot in branding," she added. Kareena is the face of many leading brands like Kurkure Desi Beats and Vivel soap among others. Saif, who promotes several brands including Head and Shoulders and Asian Paints, says it is important for him to connect with the brand he endorses. "For me, brand name is very important. I feel I should represent a brand that I can connect with. This also helps me to reach out to my fans because they can associate with me through that brand. I won't endorse something I don't connect with... like underwear ads. I can do a baniyan (vest) ad, but no chaddis for me. "It's not the finances always. When a brand approaches us, they do a lot of research before they come to sign us. And when they come to sign, that means you represent something. It also helps visibility," he added. New Delhi, Oct 31 (IANS) Saif Ali Khan met Kareena Kapoor for the first time when she was just 14 years old and more than a decade later he fell in love with her. The two are now one of the most talked about couples in tinsel town, but say marriage is not on the cards. "We do discuss marriage but this is not the right time because Saif is busy in his production house and I am getting very good roles. So marriage can wait," Kareena said at the HT Leadership Summit here Saturday. Saif said: "People say that marriage doesn't affect your career but the fact is it does. Today the whole definition of marriage has changed. We are so well connected, so close that marriage is just a stamp of validation for the society. "I love her for what she is. Saif Ali Khan who has already been in various relationships over the past years seems to be extremely serious about the love relation with Kareena Kapoor. Saif who has been open about his feelings had publicly confirmed the fact that the couple are happy together and indeed has plans to get married soon. Saif and Kareena's romance intensified with the duo shooting together for the recent film, Taashan. Saif Ali Khan who just finished action thriller, Race is set to act in Farhan Aktar's upcoming film. Voices From The Sky is the name of the film which is to be directed by the new version Don director, Farhan Aktar. Farhan's new film is themed on a strange subject which talks about the evolution of telephone. Saif Ali Khan who is being cast in the film said that the movie which focus on a different subject was meant for the international market as well. "It will be a pretty international kind of film with a great subject," The film is to start shooting in September.

Tashan is upcoming Bollywood film directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya who did screenplay for Dhoom and Dhoom 2. The film is produced under the big banner of Yash Raj Films. The film is shot in locales of Kerala, Rajastan and Ladakh. Vishal-Shekhar has the music. One of the most awaited film of the year, is scheduled for a release on April 25th.
