Home Minister offers to quit

In the wake of the latest Mumbai attacks and pressure mounting over the inefficency to control terror, Home Minister Shivraj Patil has offered to resign from the post.
This comes at the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Saturday ahead of the all party meeting called by the PM. Claiming responsibility over the security failures, the minister expressed his readiness to do whatever the CWC decides.
Post the Mumbai attack there were heavy criticism from the party quarters over the security concerns within the country and the way in which the Home Ministry has handled it. --MP
ISI Chief to reach Delhi

On the wake of Prime Minister's call for support from Pakistan to work on the Mumbai terror attack investigation, Pakistan has agreed to send its chief of intelligence agency ISI to India.
The Inter-Services Intelligence(ISI) chief Ahmad Shuja Pasha will be reaching New Delhi to share information that would help India find the culprits behind the deadly attack that is still on in Mumbai. This is in response to Manmohan Singh's request to the Pak PM Gilani for his government's support to contain terrorism. --MP
AI, Kingfisher cut fares

In an effort to boost air travel, Air India and Kingfisher has announced cut in the air fares. Air India has reduced the fares by Rs 350-500 on each ticket in the domestic route while for the international flight ticket could get a cut down in rates of upto Rs 10,000. This has come into effect with the airline withdrawing the transaction fee which was earlier charged on the tickets.
Earlier the Aviation Ministry has asked for a cutdown in fares in account of the reduced aviation turbine fuel. Kingfisher too has followed the move though the exact cut in prices are not known. --MP
