India on Wednesday has successfully tested the pilotless target aircraft flight Lakshya. The aircraft was tested from the defence base Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur-on-sea in Balasore district, 230kms from Bhubaneswar in Orissa.
The aircraft developed by DRDO is a sub-sonic, reusable aerial target system, which is remote-controlled from the ground. It is designed to impart training to air borne and air defence pilots.
The aircraft has already been inducted into Air Force and the flight test was a part of a series of user trials.
