After 2 days nation wide stir against the closure of existing airports in Bangalore and Hyderabad, the striking employees of the Airports Authority of India had called off its strike on Thursday evening after talks with the employee representitives and Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel.

 

The decision to withdraw the stir was made after the Union Minister assured that any closure of airports in the future would be made only after government's consultation with AAI and its employees.

 

During the meeting the Minister assured that modernaisation of 35 non-metro airports would be undertaken with "full involvement" of the AAI and its employees.
