Delhi most populated metro

The capital city Delhi is said to be overtaken Mumbai as the most populous metropolitan city in the country. Till now Delhi has been considered the second-largest metropolis in India, after Mumbai.
According to a study conducted by US based researchers of Population Reference Bureau has pointed out that if the same populace definitions for other other large cities like Mumbai and Kolkatta been applied for Delhi then the estimated population would be even higher.
Delhi's cosmopolitan nature owing to the immigration of people from across the country has accounted for the increasing population.
