The landmark nuclear deal betwenn India and the Us has been sealed with both the countries signing the 123 Agreement in Washington on Friday.
Calling it a significant day, India's External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that the nuclear pact is also a step towards India's cooperation with the rest of the world in the area of civilian nuclear energy.
"It enables India to respond with her global partners to the challenges of climate change and global warming by strengthening her own economic growth and sustainable development," he pointed out. The signing of the deal is also believed to strengthen the Indo-US alliance.
