Economy to grow by 7-7.5pc: PM
Sunday 9 November 2008
Amid concerns on global financial crisis, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has given assurance that Indian economy would continue to grow over 7 percent in the next year.
"Due to the current financial crisis, growth rate may come down somewhat next year, but I am still confident that we will be able to achieve a rate of between 7-7.5 per cent," said Mr Singh at a conference in Oman during his ongoing Gulf tour. Even at the impact of global slowdown, the RBI has earlier projected a healthy economy growth at a rate of 7.7 pc. --MP
