No cut in fuel prices
Thursday 13 November 2008
After Prime Minister, petroleum Ministry also has ruled out of any proposal to consider on cutting down fuel prices. Petroleum Minister Murli Deora has informed that the government would consider reducing petrol and diesel prices only after the oil companies come out of their losses. "We wanted to reduce prices but the rupee depreciation against the US dollar made things difficult," he said.
Though the oil companies are said to making profit on petrol after the fall of crude prices in the international market, the prices of diesel and domestic LPG need to stablise inorder to make up for the revenue losses, he pointed out. --MP
