Class X exams may become optional

The Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal is considering serious educational reforms to make the education itself a less traumatising experience for students and parents as well.

Sibal has proposed of doing away with the Class X exams and make it optional for those who want to pursue further education in a different school.

He even proposed a single school board at the national level for all the students for the Class 12 exams. However he said a decision on this will be taken only after discussing with the state governments.
