PM talks tough to Pak
Wednesday 17 June 2009
In what is seen as a bold and blunt message to Pakistan, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has stressed to the Pakistani President that he did not want Pakistani soil to be used for terrorism against India.
"My mandate is limited to telling you that the territory of Pakistan must not be allowed to be used for terrorism against India," said Singh to Pak President Asif Ali Zardari as the two leaders met during the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in Yekaterinburg on Tuesday. The PM's direct statement left Zardari embarassed who instantly reminded Singh to let the media person go before they could discuss further on the issue. --MP
