Following the resignation of Wajahat Habibullah, a strong demand for Kiran Bedi as his successor to the post of Chief Information Commissioner is on the rise. Many of those who had raised their opinion in favor of Kiran Bedi for the top post comprise of popular personalities including the likes of Aamir Khan, Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal. Most of them recommended that a post which accounts for information rights need transperancy and the government has to consider someone as good as Kiran Bedi, social activist and India's first woman IPS officer for the top RTI post.
