Jammu & Kashmir Dastkar Pradarshani and Sanskritik Programme.. "YUVA KRITI"

Delhi, 24 January 2009: Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India has organised a three-day (23-25 January 2009) J&K Dastkar Pradarshani and Sanskritik programme "Yuva Kriti" at cultural hub 'Dilli Haat' at Pitmpura.
 
In "Yuva Kriti", 28 Stalls have been installed where handicraft products and folk cultural activities by youth clubs/SHGS of 14 Nehru Yuva Kendra of Jammu & Kashmir are on display. A total of 106 youth are participating in Yuva Kriti. During these three days, activities such as Dastkar Pradarshani, Interaction meetings with renowned personalities and cultural panorama by J&K youth will also be organized.
The basic objective of Yuva Kriti is to provide a forum to the youth of Jammu & Kashmir to show case the unique handicrafts and cultural traditions of their State and also create  opportunities for largest ever participation of youth especially rural of Jammu & Kashmir irrespective of their caste, creed, family background, sex, language, region etc. and also the principal objective of this programme is to update and improve vocational skills of the rural youth so that they may supplement their existing income, improve productivity, and learn new skills that are in demand.
The three-day fair was inaugurated by Dr. M.S. Gill (Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports) today. On this occasion Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan's Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khan (Director General), Amardeep Singh Cheema (Vice President), Dr. Chandrashekhar Pran (Director) and many others were present there. Apart from these on the occasion of Balika Divas many young girl children also visited the fair at Dilli Haat.
During the programme Dr. M.S. Gill awarded Kapil, Radha & Girish with Youth Awards for their contribution at state level. During the programme artists from Leh-Laddakh, J&K and Delhi-Punjab presented the cultural programme.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, as a leading youth organization, functions as the major implementing agency for lot many government and non-governmental departments, which leads to the mobilization and developmental activities in the sphere of non-student rural youth.
