Recently a grand function was organised to mark the foundation day of Nehru Memorial Museum and Library at Teen Murti Bhawan, New Delhi. Nehru Memorial Museum and Library is a unique institution which attempts to recollect, preserve and reconstruct the history of the anti-imperialist struggle in India. It was founded on 1st April, 1966 and was envisioned as a world-class institution of advanced study which would foster academic research on modern and contemporary history. To commemorate the Foundation Day of the NMML, an annual event is organised every year in the month of April, where cultural evenings, seminars, talks & lectures on various critical issues are being organised.
This year also they organised a series of various programmes including a cultural evening and a lecture on 'The Return of the National State in the Current Global Crisis' by Professor Robert Douglas Jessop (Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Founding Director of the Institute of Advanced Studies at Lancaster University).
Prof. Jessop delivered the lecture and talked about the various aspects of current Global Crisis and how to deal with it. During the programme Dr. Mridula Mukherjee (Director, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library), Smt. Shantha Sinha (renowned political scientist), Vageesh Jha and many other guests were present there.
